Description: Circa 1880. Lovely miniature set of the Scottish Bard's work, bound in gilt-stamped brown leather with bright gilt page edges, 9 x 6.5 cm. Three books are labeled as Vol. I-II, Vol. III-IV, and Vol. V-VI. The second and third books have attached ribbon page markers, all volumes are clean and sound within. Books are housed in a meticulously crafted leather case with envelope-style flap and metal clasp, the poet's name stamped on top, and a gilt and brown patterned paper lining. $850.00
In my 30 years as a bookseller and my interest in both miniature books and Robert Burns and is the best item I have ever had in either of these subjects.

Volume 1 is later 1973 edition, Volume 2 is 1970 first edition. Both volumes have white fleur de lis patterned cloth boards, v.1 patterned in red and green, v.2 in blue and red. Volumes are slightly cocked and shelf worn, v. 1 shows very light soil on boards and within. V. 1 blue-green pictorial dust jacket has some soil, tape repair on front and chipping including 1" open chip on back. V. 2 dark blue jacket is price-clipped, lightly soiled and worn. $650.00
